WHBF Student Scholarship

We provide scholarships to students who have demonstrated a passion and commitment to developing a career in the home building industry.

Who Should Apply?

• Washington state residents only
• Students who will be applying to any Washington state-accredited community, vocational/technical college, or university
• Students who can demonstrate a need for additional funding to complete their programs in a construction industry-related field of study

Application Deadline and Notification

All applications must be submitted by May 1, 2025. The selection committee plans to make its decision in early June. All applicants will be mailed notice of their final status shortly after decisions are made.

WHBF Educational Programs Grant

We offer grants to organizations with programs in construction-related fields of study, residential construction career training, continuing education, apprenticeship, and skills assessment services, and technical training programs educating tomorrow’s home builders.

Who Should Apply?

• Organizations requesting funding for programs in a construction industry-related field of study in Washington state (including but not limited to: construction career training, continuing education, apprenticeship programs, skills assessment programs).

Funding Grant Deadline and Notification

Excellence in Remodeling

Each year at the Excellence in Remodeling (EIR) Awards Celebration at the BIAW Summer Board meeting, BIAW's EIR (EIR) awards recognize the state’s outstanding remodeling projects in a variety of categories and price ranges. A panel of expert judges reviews each project, ensuring each meets strict criteria of innovation and quality craftsmanship.

Builder of the Year

Presented annually during the Fall Installation and Awards Gala, this award celebrates an active builder who has made significant and lasting contributions to BIAW in the previous year.

Presented each year at the BIAW Fall board meeting, this award honors one associate member from each local association who gives back to the industry at the local, state, and national level. 1. Register

Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.

2. Login

Login to the award with your email and password.

3. Create

Create your online application.

4. Save

During the Call for Submissions period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section.

5. Submit

On completion, save your submission as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.
